Afia Stevens runs Lango Foreign Languages for Kids in Metro Atlanta. She also sits on the board of directors as VP for the Lango Language Cooperative. After ten years in the insurance industry, Afia turned her attention to early childhood development and early language acquisition. She has been developing her Lango business since 2011 - which now provides classes in over 30 schools and private groups around metro Atlanta, serving over 850 kids.
Christine holds a Bachelors degree in Spanish and a Masters in Elementary Education. Before joining the Lango team, Christine taught Spanish with a play-based Spanish learning program for five years in Michigan. Christine has experience working in afterschool and summer camp programs for children under 12 and has also worked with gifted and special needs students in various programs. Her genuine care for the children in her classes shows and the children adore her.
I have taught art and Spanish classes to K-8 graders and adults, for more than 20 years, in the U.S. and Colombia. This has included nearly a decade working in Montessori schools, as well as charter schools, private schools, Art academies and even homeschooling. I have experience designing curriculum, organizing school-wide theater and art projects and extensive continuing education credits in areas ranging from pedagogy to child psychology.
I also have extensive experience in scenography, including stage design for theater and TV, designing and building floats for major municipal events and developing, building and marketing a line of furniture made from recycled cardboard.
